Brass Metal:

Brass - which is named because of its yellow colour, because it appears yellow metal in appearance.

It has been famous by the names of Arcut, Kapilauh, Shudra Suvarna, Pitak, etc.
It is an alloy means, two metals are made together. The basic components of which are Pure Copper and Pure Zinc metals.

This beautiful metal is formed by mixing purified copper and Yashad in a certain quantity.

Many examples of this metal are found in Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita, that is, this metal also comes in medical use.
There are two types of brass -

1. Kakatundi - This is an adulterated and low quality brass, which should be discarded.

It is identified like this - If it turns black after heating in fire and fertilized in Kanji, then such brass is Kakatundi. It is a disease giver.

And the other:

2. Ritika Brass - It is the best, it is usable in human life. When such brass is heated and fertilized in kanji, it becomes red in color. This is called Ritika Brass.

This is the best - it is heavy, soft, beautiful yellow in color, spreads when beaten, aliphatic, and is astringent.

Today in this era, the situation is so dire - that brass is prepared by mixing lead with copper, which can prove to be a curse to mankind. Due to this, diseases like cancer etc. suffered by mankind.

Therefore, take special care that the brass that is being used in life should be pure pure brass.

Its utensils and ornaments are used in good quantity in human life.

पीतल धातु:

पीतल - जिसका नाम इसके पीत वर्ण के कारण हुआ है, क्युकी यह दिखने में पीली धातु दिखाई देती है |

आर्कुट, कपिलौह, श्रुद्र सुवर्ण, पीतक, आदि नामों से यह प्रख्यात रहा है |

 

यह एक मिश्र लौह है, यानी दो धातुओं को मिलकर बनायी जाती है | जिसके मूल घटक ताम्बा और यशद धातु हैं |

एक निश्चित मात्रा में शोधित शुद्ध ताम्बा एवं यशद को मिलाने पर इस सुन्दर धातु का निर्माण हो जाता है |

चरक संहिता एवं सुश्रुत संहिता में इस धातु के कई उदाहरण मिलते हैं, अर्थात यह धातु चिकित्स्कीय प्रयोग में भी आती है |

 

पीतल दो प्रकार का होता है -

१. काकतुंडी - यह मिलावटी और निम्न स्तर का पीतल होता है, जिसका त्याग कर देना चाहिए |

इसकी पहचान ऐसे करी जाती है - अग्नि में तप्त करके कांजी में निषेचित करने पर काला हो जाये तो ऐसा पीतल काकतुंडी होता है | यह रोग देने वाला है |

 

वही दूसरी और :

२. रीतिका पीतल - यह सर्वश्रेष्ठ होता है, यही मानव जीवन में प्रयोग करने योग्य है | ऐसा पीतल तप्त करके कांजी में निषेचित करने पर लाल वर्ण का हो जाता है | यही रीतिका पीतल कहाता है |

यही श्रेष्ठ है - यह भारी, मृदु, सुन्दर पीला रंग, पीटने पर फैलने वाला, स्निग्ध, और म्रसण है |

 

आज इस मिवलत के युग में स्तिथि इतनी भयंकर है - के ताम्बा के साथ सीसा मिलाकर पीतल तैयार कर दिया जाता है, जो मानव जाती को श्राप सिद्ध हो सकता है | इससे कैंसर आदि रोग बहुत जल्दी हो जाते हैं |

इसलिए इस बात का विशेष ध्यान रखें के जीवन जिस पीतल का प्रयोग किया जा रहा है वह शुद्ध शोधित रीतिका पीतल ही होवे |

इसके बर्तन व आभूषण आदि मानव जीवन में अच्छी मात्रा में प्रयोग किये जाते हैं |
