Its shape resembles that of a half-damru (Ardha-Damru). The shape of this lota is such that when it falls, it produces a louder sound, which is why in many parts of India it is called the ‘Ghanti Lota’ (Bell Lota).

Fill the copper lota with clean water and place it in your worship space. It can be used for offering arghya to the Sun, doing achaman, or storing Gangajal. Drinking water stored in a copper lota overnight is also considered beneficial. Clean it regularly and avoid acidic substances.
तांबे के लोटे में स्वच्छ जल भरकर इसे पूजन स्थान पर रखें। इसे सूर्य को अर्घ्य देने, आचमन करने या गंगाजल रखने के लिए उपयोग करें। इसमें रखा रातभर का जल पीना भी लाभकारी माना जाता है। इसे नियमित रूप से साफ करें और खट्टे पदार्थों से बचाव रखें।
